Join us for Perspectives on Queer Hedonism, an ephemeral, evocative, queer art showcase consisting of works from award winning queer visual artists predominantly based in the UK, Berlin, and further afield. This exhibition of works proudly demonstrates the significance hedonism has had on queer culture, and its relevance today.
We are here to disrupt the historic narrative, one that has often been told from the perspective of the heterosexual patriarchy. Our intention is to provide a creative platform for voices that have been marginalized, this has manifested as a curated exhibition of 26 talented artists, featuring talks from voices within the community.
Together, on the 30th September, we will navigate the importance of living an authentic life, one that is in alignment with our personal values and preferences. We will be shown just how important hedonism is to our overall well being, whilst at the same time reflecting on the darker side, when hedonism is unrestrained and pure self indulgence is taken too far.
Consider this an invitation to step into our space with unbridled curiosity, an opportunity to consider your own interpretation of hedonism, and how it has impacted your life. Our artists' works share a variety of viewpoints and lived experiences, displaying themes that embrace the beauty of diversity and the power of inclusivity.
Our exhibition is so much more than a collection of artworks; it's a testament to the resilience, creativity, and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community, an experience presented in the vibrant and fully immersive setting of a bedroom, an intimate space for many, representing both the societal cage but also a window of opportunity accessed through imagination and the most intimate of thoughts.
We invite you to leave expectations at the door, and join us on a journey that celebrates the richness of queer culture and the many ways in which hedonism has helped shape the LGBTQ+ experience.
